Join renowned soprano Renée Fleming and an esteemed panel of experts in neuroscience and music therapy at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art for an enlightening discussion on the arts’ profound impact on the brain. Discover how music can shape neurons, aiding cognitive development, healing, and therapy across all stages of life, from infancy to older age. Ms. Fleming will lead a Q&A and follow the session with a signing of her new book, Music and Mind: Harnessing the Arts for Health and Wellness in collaboration with Rainy Day Books.
This program is co-presented by Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and Lyric Opera of Kansas City in conjunction with the exhibition Infinite Regress: Mystical Abstraction from the Permanent Collection and Beyond, which includes individual works by Georgia O’Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz, and the presentation of The Brightness of Light, an opera that explores the relationship between the two artists.
