Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art acknowledges it resides on the ancestral territory of the Osage, Kaw, and Otoe-Missouria, among other tribal nations forcibly moved to the region such as the Shawnee, Wyandot, Delaware, Potawatomi, Sac and Fox and Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo) nations. We recognize and support the continued vibrancy of Native communities and cultures today who continue to thrive, as well as the inherent sovereignty of tribal nations. We are compelled to serve and advocate for these communities in accordance with our public mission.

Kemper Museum acknowledges and respects the diversity of Native people connected to this land today. Many recognize the land and all beings who live within it as relatives. We acknowledge the earth we inhabit, the waters of the Blue River, the Kansas River, the Missouri River, and the plants, animals, and people supported by them. 

We acknowledge our responsibility to be good caretakers of the land we occupy.

Kemper Museum is located one block east from Main Street, with entrances on 45th Street and Warwick Boulevard.

Beginning January 1, 2026, parking in the lots immediately surrounding the Museum and in the north lot at the corner of 44th Street and Warwick Boulevard will be paid parking. Parking will remain free for Supporting Members. ADA accessible parking is free. 

Free street parking is available on nearby streets. The Museum is also accessible via the free KC Streetcar, with the nearest stop at 45th street just steps from our entrance. Bicycle racks are located in the northwest corner of the north parking lot.

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is easily accessible by public transportation. The KC Streetcar on Main Street offers two convenient stops within walking distance of the museum at 43rd Street and 45th Street, with free rides for all passengers.

While in the neighborhood, visitors might also enjoy the exploring the Kansas City Art Institute’s Emily & Todd Voth Artspace and KCAI Gallery, the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, all located less than a mile away from Kemper Museum.
