Donor-Advised Fund Contributions
Do you have a donor-advised fund (DAF)? If so, you can use DAF Direct to recommend grants to Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF's sponsoring organization is participating). Thank you for your kind support! For more information, please contact Sara Hale at 816-457-6102 or email@example.com.
I selected Fifth Generation by the Finnish artist Sirpa Särkijärvi to share with you this holiday season. Särkijärvi was born in 1974 in Lapland, the northernmost part of Finland. The young boy whose small figure we see from the back is her son. Standing at the base of the composition, he is dwarfed by a tower of frozen confections—huge snow-covered pines enveloped in a swirl of northern light. His tiny figure, glowing in the mysterious terrain, reminds us that during this festive season we all stand in awe, whether of the power of nature, the spirit of the times, or the magic of art.
Warmest wishes this holiday season,
Barbara O’Brien, Executive Director
You make an impact with a gift to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art
You provide opportunities for learning and allow young and old alike to engage with the art and artists of our time. Your donation keeps the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art free for everyone. Thank you!
In 2015, over 100,000 visitors enjoyed nationally recognized exhibitions and participated in educational programs at all three Kemper Museum locations. Your generosity made this possible.
Today, I ask you to please consider a donation to the Kemper Museum to continue this important work.
I’m happy to share the good news that Linda Lighton and Lynn Adkins, long time members and friends of the Kemper Museum, contributed a $5,000 lead gift to the Museum’s year-end campaign. We are grateful for their confidence and commitment to the Kemper Museum. Please join them with your donation today.
As you reflect on the many requests from worthy causes during this time of year, remember that a generous donation to the Kemper Museum inspires creativity, lifts spirits, and sparks imagination. The Kemper Museum is beginning its third decade as both a cultural and a civic jewel of Kansas City. Thanks to you, great things are happening!

You make it happen
The Kemper Museum's incredible free programming and world-class art exhibitions would not be possible without the support of people like you. From one dollar to $1,000 every little bit helps. Perhaps you joined us this past year for our standing-room only artist talk by Hung Liu or attended one of our amazing kids camps, now you can help us continue our mission and offerings with a donation in the amount of your choice!
This past year saw 4,000 school children from 300 schools—more than double the number of school children from 2012— experience docent-led tours and inventive programming at no charge. Another 3,000 children and families participated in storytelling in the galleries, camps, workshops, and the opportunity for young children to experience the Museum with Art(full) Bags. More than 1,400 adults attended artist talks, music performances, and workshops.
At the Kemper Museum, there is no charge for admission, special exhibitions, artist talks, or public programming—even our parking is free! By making a donation today, you will ensure that one of Kansas City’s only entirely free cultural institutions will continue to welcome more than 130,000 visitors annually. Your support also makes possible new ways to reach a wider audience; such as plans next year to launch an initiative for teens from all socio-economic backgrounds, and programming specifically designed for homeschoolers.
Our mission has never been more important as the Kemper Museum builds on a legacy of cultural and civic engagement. Your 100% tax-deductible gift to the Museum makes this possible. Thank you, in advance, for your contribution to the Annual Fund and for helping us trigger the generous match.
