Venues

Use of the Museum for a private event may include: the atrium, courtyard, meeting room, and portions of the Café. Gallery doors may be open allowing event guests to view exhibitions during special exhibition dates. (The Museum cannot open the gallery doors during times of installation and deinstallation of exhibitions. Please inquire about exhibition dates.) The Museum Shop generally is not open during private events, but special arrangements may be made.

The Museum is available for private events on Tuesday–Sunday (With the exception of Friday evenings when Café Sebastienne is committed to remaining open). 

Museum/Atrium

Capacity: 150 people (seated dinner), 260 (buffet dinner reception), or 350 people (cocktail buffet)


Impress and inspire your guests when you book the Kemper Museum for your next corporate dinner, gala event, or wedding reception. The soaring architecture by Gunnar Birkerts and works from the Museum’s permanent collection make this a gorgeous venue for your special event.

Use of the Kemper Museum/Atrium for one private event is a benefit to members at higher levels. Membership will be valid for one year following the date of the initial payment.

Courtyard

Capacity: 85 people (seated dinner)

The Kemper Museum’s interior courtyard is a beautiful spot for a lunch, dinner or cocktail reception and includes works from the Museum’s permanent collection. 

Meeting Room

Capacity: 88 people (theater style), 50 people (seated dinner or classroom-style meeting)

The Kemper Museum’s meeting room features original works of art by artists from around the world. It is an excellent place for presentations, group retreats, small receptions, and luncheons.

Groups may also rent the meeting room during daytime hours when the Museum is open to the public (Tuesdays–Sundays). Other events may be scheduled only from 5:00–9:00 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday, subject to availability.

The Museum’s meeting room has the following audio-visual equipment: screen, video projector, microphone, lectern, laser pointer.
