Tyler Kimball is a Kansas City born artist who worked out of Seattle from 2004 to 2014, before moving back to Kansas City to establish Monarch Glass studio in the 18th and Vine district. The studio offers classes, events, a gallery with gifts and artwork, as well as working within corporate and private installations. Kimball has shown in galleries and museums internationally and continues to push the boundaries of limits of glass art.

“From a young age I marveled at how humans could create such a beautiful material as glass. And even before beginning to work in the medium myself, I did a great deal of research about the history of blown and stained glass. In 1999 I began making stained glass windows and followed into blown glass in 2004. I’ve continued to marvel at the material and try to capture what intrigued me about glass from the very beginning. The ability to bend and color light, refract and reflect, and bring out the natural beauty of glass.”
