Café Sebastienne gets gold from KC Healthy Kids

Café Sebastienne

Café Sebastienne is the newest restaurant to earn Carrot Gold status for its support of local farmers and small business owners.

A customizable program designed by KC Healthy Kids, Carrot Gold certification lets restaurants and institutions “start where they are” and move operations toward an ideal level of excellence in local food sourcing, sustainability, and healthy eating, following the mission and leadership of each establishment.

Café Sebastienne has earned 24 Carrot Gold status, the highest certification available, for sourcing food locally, engaging in sustainable kitchen practices, and offering healthy menu items.

Launched in 2013, Carrot Gold grows the demand for local food and keeps farmers farming. It’s a network of restaurants and institutions with a growing list of partners which includes restaurants, schools, corporate cafeterias, government facilities, grocery stores, value-added producers, food trucks, bakeries and juiceries.
