Join us for an evening full of food, fun, festivities, friends, and film!

Kemper Museum is once again pleased to partner with the Kansas City Art Institute to bring you the 2016 Kemper Museum Summer Block Party. With more activities being added almost daily, this is shaping up to be a Block Party you do not want to miss!

Kansas City's Pythons Drill Team will kick-off the festivities with drumming, dancing, flags, acrobats, and majorettes, followed by the incomparable Kansas City Latin Jazz All-Stars.

Throughout the evening party-goers may experience informal tours, see student demonstrations, and view the amazing teaching gallery at the Kansas City Art Institute Richard J. Stern Ceramics Building. Tours and student demonstrations will also be available at the newly completed David T. Beals III Studio for Arts & Technology. Both KCAI buildings are immediately adjacent to the Kemper Museum and easily accessible by foot.

Kemper Museum Docents will also be conducting tours Museum galleries, sculptures, and Permanent Collection. Kemper Museum Shop will also be joining in the fun by offering three simultaneous trunk shows for those interested in acquiring some art for themselves or their home.

Lastly, at approximately 8:30 p.m. (sundown) everyone will be encouraged to find a spot on the Museum Grounds and experience an outdoor screening of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth (1986) starring David Bowie.

As you can see, this year's Kemper Summer Block Party will once again be an evening the entire family will enjoy! Mark your calendar and come early for a limited amount of free food offerings at a number of food trucks on site!
