Magnetic Fields: Expanding American Abstraction, 1960s to Today

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI—April 26, 2017—Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the forthcoming exhibition, Magnetic Fields: Expanding American Abstraction, 1960s to Today, which will be on view at Kemper Museum June 8 through September 17, 2017, and will then travel to the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Magnetic Fields is the first U.S. presentation dedicated exclusively to the formal and historical dialogue of abstraction by women artists of color.

Kemper Museum awarded $50,000 grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – January 4, 2017—Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the award of a $50,000 grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts in support of Magnetic Fields: Expanding American Abstraction, 1960s to Today.

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art to receive $40,000 grant from National Endowment for the Arts

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – December 13, 2016—In a statement released today, National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $30 million in grants as part of the NEA’s first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $40,000 to Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in support of Magnetic Fields: Expanding American Abstraction, 1960s to Today, an upcoming exhibition to open at the Kemper Museum June 8 through September 17, 2017 with opportunities to travel thereafter.

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art Names Tony Glamcevski As New Director of Food & Beverages, and Special Events

KANSAS CITY – August 19, 2016 – Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to announce Tony Glamcevski as its new Director of Food & Beverages, and Special Events. Glamcevski (pronounced “glam-chev-ski”) most recently served as the General Manager and Partner of the Rieger Hotel Grill and Exchange in Kansas City. He begins work at the Kemper Museum on Monday, August 22.

NEA Grant Supports NCECA Exhibition

KANSAS CITY – December 9, 2015 – For the second consecutive year, Kemper Museum of Contemporary, Kansas City, Missouri, has been awarded a prestigious grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). One year ago, the NEA announced a grant to Kemper Museum in the amount of $20,000, in support of the exhibition Adam Cvijanovic: American Montage, and coordinated programming.
