National Committee Celebration

National Committee Celebration 2018 brings together a visionary group of the Museum’s most generous patrons as our guests. This group is important for so many reasons, but crucially, your philanthropic support accounts for more than two-thirds of the Museum’s operating budget.

National Committee Celebration programming is made possible in part by an endowment that honors William D. Sullivan.

About our Honored Guest:
Visiting artist Angela Dufresne was raised in Olathe, Kansas, and graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1991. Dufresne’s paintings are part of the Kemper Museum Permanent Collection and exemplify the Museum’s celebration of the history of the gesture in modern and contemporary art. Her first solo Museum exhibition, Angela Dufresne: Making a Scene, opens this September at Kemper Museum with an accompanying catalogue. Dufresne is Associate Professor of painting at Rhode Island School of Design, and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
