Women to Watch (Paper)
Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, in cooperation with the Kansas City chapter of National Museum of women in the Arts (NMWA) is proud to host Women to Watch (Paper). The Women to Watch exhibition series features emerging or underrepresented artists from the states and countries in which NMWA has outreach committees. From illustrative to sculptural, this year’s exhibition explores paper as an artistic medium. All self-identifying women currently living in Kansas or Missouri, within 150 miles of Kansas City, were eligible to enter. Submissions were juried and works for the exhibition curated by Kemper Museum’s Director of Curatorial Affairs, Erin Dziedzic.
The Greater Kansas City Area Committee of NMWA is one of the museum’s many national and international committees. The group formed in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2002 under the leadership of Jeannette Nichols with the goals of raising awareness of the museum’s unique purpose and of bringing attention to noteworthy women artists in the Kansas City community.
