Now Recruiting for 2010 | Kemper Museum Docent Information Reception

Friday, February 12, 5:30–7:00 p.m.

As an integral part of the Kemper Museum’s educational program, Kemper’s volunteer docents lead interactive tours for groups of all ages at the Museum. A love for art, ability to think “outside the box,” and commitment of time is required for consideration into the program.

Kemper Museum docents volunteer several times a month (or as the tour schedule dictates) and meet once a month for required educational meetings. Additional trainings for special exhibitions and meetings with visiting artists are also scheduled periodically throughout the year. New docents must complete an intensive 10-week training course that includes on-site and online training, follow at least three guided tours led by veteran Kemper Museum docents, complete a research paper and presentation, and become a member of the Kemper Museum.

A new docent training course is typically offered every other year. To inquire about becoming a docent, please complete the attached application and return it to:

Curator of Education
Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art
4420 Warwick Blvd.
Kansas City, MO 64111
fax 816-753-5806

All prospective docents will be personally
interviewed prior to acceptance into the
training class.
