This year has brought many opportunities to focus on the Kemper Museum’s priorities of showcasing outstanding works of modern and contemporary art through its collection, special exhibitions, and educational programming. The Museum provides free access for everyone to enjoy modern and contemporary art. There is no charge for admission, special exhibitions, artist talks, public programming —even our parking is free!

By making a donation today, you will ensure that one of Kansas City’s only entirely free cultural institutions will welcome more than 130,000 visitors to learn about and enjoy contemporary art.

The Museum has experienced a very full and fulfilling year. The summer brought the exhibition Lois Dodd: Catching the Light, the first museum retrospective for this artist, now in her eighties. You may have caught mentions about the exhibition in the New York Times, Art in America, and Huffington Post, among others, calling it one not to miss.

The current exhibitions—The Map as Art, on view through April 21, and Be Inspired!, on view through June—bring a number of artists to Kansas City from around the world, funded by the Karen and Jack Holland Visiting Artist Program. And, the exhibition Frederick James Brown: Modern American Storyteller showcases the Museum’s vast holdings of works by the late painter known to many for his thrilling cycle of paintings, The History of Art, in Café Sebastienne.

Your support keeps the Museum alive and vibrant through your generosity. A 100% tax-deductible gift to the Museum at this time helps to cover many of the hard costs from security to utilities of operating an organization at this level. The needs are great, and a gift from you, at any level, makes a difference.

As our gift to you for your donation of $150 and more by December 31, we will reserve your choice of publications, either the catalogue for Lois Dodd: Catching the Light or the new publication Frederick J. Brown: The History of Art.

  $50 $75 $100 $150* $200*

We look forward to welcoming you in the coming months at the Kemper Museum, where you may enjoy excellent exhibitions, educational programs, and events, knowing that your support makes them possible. Thank you in advance for your contribution to the Annual Fund.
