The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art presents 8–12 exhibitions per year in the Charlotte Crosby Kemper Main Gallery, the Barbara Uhlmann Gallery, and the Kemper East Gallery. The Museum curates exhibitions from our permanent collection and of the work of emerging and midcareer artists. We often give emerging artists their first solo museum exhibitions and publications. The Museum produces exhibition brochures and catalogues with scholarly essays; invitations; and other didactic materials.

Artists exhibited include Polly Apfelbaum, Ken Aptekar, Christian Boltanski, Petah Coyne, Russell Crotty, Naomi Fisher, Till Freiwald, Jim Hodges, Alex Katz, Nikki S. Lee, Marco Maggi, Fairfield Porter, Lezley Saar, Shahzia Sikander, Do-Ho Suh, Robert Therrien, Wayne Thiebaud, Phoebe Washburn, Bruce Yonemoto, and many others.
