The increasing presence of science, technology, and the synthetic in the natural world creates questions about their impact on society in the 21st century and beyond. As technological advancements rapidly progress and infiltrate through our daily reality, the environment and the human condition are dually affected. With works by Damien Hirst, John Kalymnios, and others drawn from the Kemper's permanent collection, Sci-Fi Fermentation looks at the visual interpretation of the resulting exchanges between science, nature, and artistic imagination.
