Wayne Thiebaud (b. 1920) has created a rich variety of hand-colored works
from print proofs collected over a period of forty years. Using proofs that
might otherwise be discarded, he adds color: crayon, pastel, watercolor,
charcoal, tempera, acrylic, and oil paint. Paul Thiebaud (Wayne's son) and
his wife, collected these prints over the years, and donated a dozen of
them to the Kemper Museum as a token of their gratitude and friendship to
Mr. and Mrs. R. Crosby Kemper, Jr., Kemper Museum founders. |
