The Art Guys began working collaboratively while they were students at the
University of Houston. Their work comprises both performance and installation
art, and has an edge of absurdity to it. For instance, past performances
have included sitting in a Denny's restaurant for days, dragging a suitcase
behind a truck from Houston to San Antonio, and selling newspapers on freeway
off-ramps. Their installations have included a 16-foot suitcase wheel, a
penny column, a sliced-cheese grid, and a carrot wheel. They presented two
performances at the Kemper Museum, Art Guise Greatest Hits on the evening
of October 4, and Salad Days on the morning of October 5. |
