Curator Dana Self organized this exhibition which addressed our paradoxical
relationship to nature; specifically, the garden. The artists examined nature
and the "garden of earthly delights" in which we find ourselves.
Flowers, wood logs, leaves, strange yet beautiful abstract forms, and other
garden elements are revealed as these artists travel very personal paths
to reconcile culture with nature, the future with the past, and the earthly
with the ethereal. Artists included Antonio Girbes, Alison Moritsugu, Eleanor
Miller, Andrew Young, Janet Pihlblad, Darren Waterston, Maura Bendett, Anne
Siems, David Kroll, and Maria Tomasula. |
