Collaborating with the Kansas City chapter of the American Institute of
Architects, the Kemper Museum presented five architectural models by artist
and sculptor James Carpenter. Carpenter's work challenges boundaries between
architecture, engineering, and fine art. The models from five well-known
projects included the Arch/Truss Wall at Los Angeles Center, Los Angeles;
the Tension Net Sculpture at the Southern California Gas Company, Los Angeles;
Sculptural Light Reflectors, at the San Francisco International Airport;
the Wabasha Street Bridge in Saint Paul, Minnesota; and the Bibliothèque
de France. |
