Out of Nature: Works by John Kalymnios
December 10, 2004–February 27, 2005
read catalogue essay   back to list   see current exhibitions   see upcoming exhibitions

John Kalymnios's kinetic sculptures create interesting visual and spatial manipulations. His works become sensory experiences in which he uses low-tech mechanics, sculpture, video, and photography to toy with our perception. His images are drawn primarily from nature: spirals whirl, butterflies in motion captivate, and illuminated cloudscapes create a hypnotic sense of space. John Kalymnios was a visiting artist.
