The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is excited to announce the Collectors Forum schedule for 2015. Become a Member at the Connoisseur level and you are invited to discover art and culture while traveling in style with Kemper Museum leadership staff. Join at the National Committee level and you can embark on an art excursion to Havana, Cuba and The Bienal De La Habana, or Havana Biennial! These exclusive trips showcase the best each destination offers, from art and culture to accommodations and cuisine. With each itinerary specially handcrafted by the Kemper Museum, you will witness first-hand the experience of fine contemporary art through the art of fine service.

Only Museum Members at the Connoisseur or National Committee level and above, are eligible to take part in these unmatched opportunities.

Offered through a partnership with Copperbridge Foundation, this trip treats you to a Cuban itinerary that most don't dream of experiencing. Visit studios and homes of Cuban artists and art dealers, and take advantage of this perfectly timed trip to attend The Bienal De La Habana, or Havana Biennial.  The Biennial showcases significant new works by Cuban artists. It has become an important meeting place for artists from all over the world, and is one of the best barometers of how Cuba is changing.  Visits to the Biennial exhibitions spaces, artists' homes, and all other unique destinations will be led by a fluently bilingual host, who is well versed in the Cuban culture and possesses personal ties to many of Cuba's most famous artists.

Itinerary Highlights

Join Kemper Museum’s Barbara O’Brien, executive director, and Erin Dziedzic, curator and head of adult programs, for a three-day art immersion by private coach in St. Louis. After checking in at the luxurious Chase Park Plaza Hotel, the first stop is the St. Louis Art Museum, where our group will experience a curator-led tour of the contemporary art collection.  On Friday evening, Carolyn Miles, owner of the Atrium Gallery, will host a private tour and cocktail reception. 

On Saturday, private tours of the newly remodeled Pulitzer Arts Foundation and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis will precede visits to two private collections. An elegant meal prepared by James Beard Award-winning chef Gerard Craft (the first chef in St. Louis to win this prestigious award...the culinary world's preeminent honor), at his upscale farm-to-table new American restaurant Niche, will complete the day.

The cost of the trip is $1,200 per person and includes accommodations in the luxurious Chase Park Plaza Hotel. Round trip train tickets on Amtrak and certain meals are not included.

Museum staff will travel by Amtrak: 314 Missouri River Runner to St. Louis on Friday, July 17, and 313 Missouri River Runner returning to Kansas City on Sunday, July 19. To purchase tickets for these trains, visit the Amtrak website.
